Position – Director, Cloud Engineering
As Director of Cloud Engineering, you will lead the team responsible for the cloud infrastructure, tooling, security automation, observability, and platform reliability at Logicbroker. You’ll define and execute our infrastructure roadmap while partnering closely with engineering, security, IT and product teams. This is a strategic leadership role for someone who can both guide the vision and get deep into the details when needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead and grow the Cloud Engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Own the design, implementation, and scalability of our AWS-based infrastructure, including networking, compute, storage, and Kubernetes-based orchestration.
- Reliability Engineering: Ensure high availability, performance, and resilience of Logicbroker’s production systems across services and environments.
- Platform Security: Collaborate with InfoSec to automate security best practices, vulnerability management, and compliance controls (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.).
- CI/CD Ownership: Evolve our CI/CD pipelines for rapid, safe, and reliable deployments across all engineering teams.
- Observability: Drive improvements in monitoring, logging, and tracing using modern observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry).
- Cost Optimization: Proactively manage cloud cost efficiency while ensuring performance and redundancy standards.
- Disaster Recovery & Incident Response: Lead DR planning and participate in incident reviews and blameless postmortems.
- Cross-functional Partnership: Work closely with Product and Engineering leaders to support platform evolution and delivery velocity.
- Automation & Innovation: Promote infrastructure-as-code, policy-as-code, and intelligent automation across the platform.
Essential Skills, Experience & Education
- 10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or SRE/Platform roles, including 5+ years in technical leadership or management.
- Proven success leading high-availability, large-scale infrastructure in Azure or other major cloud environments.
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud-native application delivery.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi, Helm) and GitOps workflows.
- Strong understanding of networking, IAM, service mesh, and zero-trust principles in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with incident management, SRE principles, and building operational playbooks.
- Strong programming or scripting skills (e.g., Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell).
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Passion for automation, platform resilience, and scaling systems intelligently.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
