Position – Director, Data Engineering
As Director of Data Engineering, you will lead the team responsible for Logicbroker’s data platform architecture, pipelines, and data products. You’ll define and implement our data infrastructure roadmap, working cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Analytics, and Customer Success. Your mandate is to build scalable, secure, and future-ready systems that unlock the power of data across our entire ecosystem.
What You’ll Do:
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing Data Engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and technical excellence.
- Data Platform Ownership: Define and evolve Logicbroker’s modern data stack, including real-time and batch processing, warehousing, and orchestration layers.
- Pipeline Development: Oversee the design and implementation of scalable, fault-tolerant data pipelines ingesting data from internal systems, APIs, and external partners.
- Data Quality & Governance: Champion data quality, lineage, and consistency. Implement monitoring and alerting for key pipelines and datasets.
- Partnerships: Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Go-To-Market teams to prioritize data initiatives that drive customer value and platform intelligence.
- Tooling & Infrastructure: Evaluate and deploy best-in-class tools for orchestration (e.g., Airflow), storage (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks), and transformation (e.g., dbt).
- Security & Compliance: Ensure data platform practices meet evolving privacy, compliance, and access control standards (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR).
- Self-Service Enablement: Build reusable models, data contracts, and documentation to empower analytics, data science, and application teams.
- Innovation: Partner with Product and Architecture teams to enable new use cases including predictive insights, intelligent routing, and anomaly detection.
- Metrics & Monitoring: Define operational SLAs and KPIs for data infrastructure, ingestion latency, freshness, and platform reliability.
What We Need:
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, including 5+ years leading teams and technical strategy.
- Proven success designing and scaling modern data platforms using cloud-native tools and services (Azure preferred).
- Strong experience with ELT pipelines, streaming data (e.g., Kafka), and distributed processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flink).
- Deep knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and performance optimization.
- Experience implementing and maintaining data observability, lineage, and governance frameworks.
- Proficiency with SQL, Python, and modern data stack tooling (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Snowflake/Redshift/BigQuery/Databricks).
- Strong understanding of data privacy and compliance in regulated environments.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with cross-functional technical and business teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
