The Top 5 Logicbroker Product Features of 2023

By Jager Robinson | December 21, 2023

It’s been a busy year behind the scenes at Logicbroker. With a continuous stream of updates to our API-driven suite of products, we are constantly working to improve our robust multi-vendor commerce platform for our customers. As 2023 comes to a close, we wanted to highlight the five key product features of the year. These features were built for our users, and in nearly every case, by request of both customers and users.

Our product team continually engages with customers and prospects to discuss features they’d like to see, how we can best implement targeted updates to support their ecosystems and more. These conversations form the backbone of our product offering and have led to some incredible new features.

1) Introducing On-Demand Onboarding

Perhaps our most beloved feature, Logicbroker’s On-Demand Onboarding has revolutionized how retailers and brands connect with their suppliers. With customized onboarding expectations and guardrails set for their suppliers, retailers can expect automated onboarding that can take as little as an hour, compared to the industry standard of weeks. This automation-driven platform feature has influenced how some of Logicbroker’s key customers like BBQGuys and Boscov’s have worked with their suppliers in 2023.

On-Demand Onboarding is specifically built around five key characteristics: unmatched speed-to-market, improved visibility for both the retailer and supplier, giving retailers even more control over their commerce programs, ever expanding our automation-led support system, and, perhaps most importantly, eliminating supplier onboarding fees other legacy providers push on your ecosystem.

These five components have equated to a laundry list of exceptional benefits, including:

  • Onboarding that takes hours instead of weeks or months
  • Onboarding times decrease 40-80% for the average supplier
  • A complete elimination of supplier onboarding fees for your system, leading to more willing onboarding participants
  • Customized onboarding templates & expectations, further reducing onboarding times
  • Faster time to market, which translates to more sales
  • & so much more

2) Expanding Our Native Connectors

A key platform benefit is the wide assortment of native connectors for customers to leverage as they expand their commerce capabilities and reach more customers. These pre-built connectors offer flexibility in how Logicbroker is used while providing a quick and efficient way for data to flow between Logicbroker and the connector of choice.

In 2023, we are proud to say that every connector asked of our product team was introduced to the customer. This unwavering commitment to our customers led to the introduction of connections to TikTok, Allegro, Tokopedia, Adyen, The Market, Nocnoc, Marketplacer, and more.

With these connectors built into the Logicbroker platform, key customers are able to either drive more traffic to their site, enable additional commerce capabilities globally, or expand their assortment with new and transformative products that meet their target customer’s needs.

We continue to support our customers’ global expansion and introducing these connectors is just the beginning for those looking to expand their sales channels. In addition to providing these new connectors, we, of course, continue to support connections to some of the largest organizations in the world like Shopify, eBay, BigCommerce, Mangopay, ShipEngine, and more.

Needless to say, Logicbroker offers the widest range of prebuilt native connectors for our customers and will continue to well into 2024 and beyond.

3) The EDI Connection Page

To provide additional support for those seeking EDI connections, and to provide transparency where users requested it, Logicbroker built out our backend EDI connector into an EDI Connection Page in 2023.

In the past, users would need to submit EDI connection details to our support team using a form. Then the team would manually set it up, test it, manage it, and work with the user to troubleshoot. After several conversations with our users, it was clear that this very manual process ended up delaying onboarding times and increased the manual touchpoints we often seek to eliminate.

We pushed this functionality to our portal to allow EDI users to see and manage their EDI connection directly from the portal. With the EDI Onboarding page, users are now able to set up through a self-guided tour, have increased visibility into all existing setups, test their connections in real-time, enjoy more robust data collection tools, and set up custom connection types.

4) Bulk Picking and Shipping

In the above demonstration of Bulk Picking, Demo Retailer is the brand associated with the order. The supplier is utilizing bulk picking to find 18 individual orders (that normally need their own set of clicks and processes to find, categorize, and then generate a shipping label for) to bulk select and automate the shipping label process.

We constantly look for ways to improve and automate manual touchpoints that often take weeks upon weeks to complete. For suppliers, these touchpoints always came from order fulfillment.

Bulk picking is a fulfillment strategy that involves filtering through multiple orders and picking all the required items together in one go. Rather than picking items individually for each order, bulk picking allows you to optimize your warehouse operations by minimizing travel time and reducing the number of touchpoints. This results in significant time savings and increased productivity.

In our internal testing, with the help of several key suppliers for enterprise retailers in the Logicbroker Network, we discovered that on average a single order fulfillment process that has 10 individual orders requires 88 clicks. That number generally multiplies significantly as more orders are added.

With bulk picking, categorizing those 10 orders takes just 5 clicks. This dramatic reduction in manual touchpoints is the culmination of customer requests, listening sessions, and product demos designed to help our customers. If you’re a supplier with an integrated shipping service through the Logicbroker portal, those 5 clicks can also bulk ship your product with no extra effort.

Bulk picking and shipping breaks down into these four key benefits:

  • Enhanced Efficiency: Bulk picking reduces the time spent navigating and searching for orders. This leads to a substantial increase in efficiency and allows you to process more orders in less time.
  • Error Reduction: With manual order picking, there is a higher risk of picking errors, such as selecting the wrong item or quantity. Bulk picking minimizes these errors by focusing on a specific group of orders at once, ensuring greater accuracy and reducing the need for error management.
  • Cost Savings: By optimizing your picking process and reducing the number of manual touchpoints, bulk picking helps you save on labor costs and increases your overall operational efficiency.
  • Faster Order Fulfillment: With bulk picking and shipping, you can fulfill orders at a faster rate, leading to shorter delivery times and improved customer satisfaction.

5) The Introduction of Inventory Templates

Logicbroker users have enjoyed default, standard inventory templates, but in keeping with our commitment to our customers we introduced retailer-specific inventory templates in 2023. This new feature allows the Logicbroker team to confirm with retailers what they require on inventory feeds so we can set up custom templates on the backend.

These templates are showcased for their suppliers so they can provide all the pertinent information retailers require to meet customer demands. This new process drastically cuts down on wasted time for both the suppliers and retailers, as custom templates ensure that only the information required is being transferred.

One of the additional benefits of this feature comes in the form of validation checks. Instead of suppliers sending off default templates to a retailer who then has to ensure all information is correct, custom templates provide our system with the information it needs to validate the fields as they enter our system. If a supplier sends a feed with missing required fields, our system automatically fails the attempt and gives the supplier detailed ways to fix any issues.

As we perfected the process, we also unveiled some targeted improvements to the error messaging systems on our backend. Now, suppliers get detailed information on how to fix their process for both their current and future attempts.
